Sorry no one answered your thread earlier. I think your rooster may have early fowl pox, a virus carried by mosquitoes. It is usually not serious, and lasts around 3 weeks. If the case is more severe, they can develop painful yellow spots inside the beak that make it painful to eat. There is a vaccine available online for chickens who have not been exposed.
