Help!!!!

Hi last night something terrible happened I have two adult ducks and two baby ducklings and a silkie chicken in a pen the female duck is laying eggs. Any ways this morning when I go out side my chicken was shredded in my yard an only found a leg and wing and my baby ducks are gone too and the pen is securely closed to where nothing can open it and my ducks that were in the pen were in the yard !!! What happened how did they get out what could have done this

My duck eggs are gone too I go out to check every morning and they are always not there my pen is like a house nothing would be able to get in

, I wish it was under better circumstances.

Some predators can get into almost unbelievably small places. If you post over on this forum you may be able to get some answers or suggestions on how to stop future issues (pictures of your coop/run may be helpful):

I don't have any predators in my area (too many people and 0.5 acres) but is there a possibility that anything could have gotten under the pen? Like, dug a hole or anything? Check along the bottom of the pen and see if there are any holes. If you can figure out what it is, you might be able to better predator-proof your place. Also, like the above post mentions, predators can fit into smaller spaces than you might think

Thanks my parents said it's most likely a raccoon but I still don't understand how my ducks were out and the door closed

Maybe someone came by and let the ducks out, kids? or 2 legged predator of the human kind planning to steal them. as to animal predators, they can dig, they can climb, they can squeeze through openings in wire or tear thru cheap chicken wire. Raptors can fly in etc.

If you post a photos of your coop/run, we would be able to tell you the weak spots. Or check out the predator threads for help in preventing another attack. So sorry for your loss.
