HELP!!!

By the way, I'd be getting a brooder set up. I'd pull the ducklings pretty quickly after hatching, since the turner is still in there. Turners have been known to cause a few injuries. So keep an eye on them and pull them as soon as is feasible.

The second I saw them that was already decided hahaha. Crossing my fingers that they finish hatching, "Irma" will definitely be one. :lau And the other? We have many choices so far haha, Harvey? Jose? Lee? Maria? Maybe the next age group will hatch also, and I can use them all haha.

Exactly!! Glad I'm not the only one. If it wasn't for y'all, I would be blowing up everyone's phones lol.

I'm in south ga swamp land. So we already have an extremely high humidity, maybe that is what saved them. But sitting upright in a turner that wasn't even on for the last two weeks? I thought they would be stuck too. Crazy.

The holes are higher near the top than what I would prefer, but maybe they can figure it out.

I added sponges instead of doing the syringe, I am glad I did because you made a great point. I was planning to split the two different ages into separate hatchers when I put them on lockdown. But since I thought they were all already dead I didn't worry about it, and forgot.

I have tried to hatch ducks at least three times with no success. And I babied them the whole time...just blows my mind that neglect was all I did this time and they actually hatched.

Glad I have found this forum. I can jabber nonstop, and my family doesn't have to deal with listening to it. So sorry about all the messages everyone. Haha Thank you all so much!
Jabber on !! You have found your audience.
I know you shouldn't count your ducks before they hatch, but if you HAVE to name one Irma.

Excellent suggestion!:D

I am setting up a brooder now, I have an old incubator I never use. I usually use it as a hatcher, but as soon as these finish I'm going to put them in there to dry.

Then I have a real brooder I am getting set up inside for them. These babies are going to be spoiled, have to make up for everything I let them go through alone.

your humidity probably did save your hatch! thats awesome!!
turning is the most important for the first part and not really as important for the 2nd half of incubation

congrats! cant wait to see the new babies!!

I have only had them hatch in an turner once, they hatched a few days early before I took it out. Was chickens, and I did have a few with splay leg. But I splinted those few and they were fine. So I am praying for no duck splay legs.

Do any of you know what the black matter is inside eggs? I have only seen it in chicken eggs when they stop forming in the egg. I noticed the black started when I candled them after the storm. And thought that meant the egg was bad.

These eggs you can see through very easy, and now I can see the black blotches covering a few eggs. And even the one hatching I can see the black tint? Ill have to look more closely after they hatch.

Ahhhh, I am so excited as if I'm the Aunteeeee to be!:wee

Keep us posted...and where are you located in south ga.? I'm in Jacksonville, FL. but moved here just 2 years ago from Brunswick, GA.
