Have you observed them mating? Even the male has it so all of them would be seen mating/dominating each other in the water.

But I think it looks like molting. It’s far lower down the sides than it would be if it was caused by mating. You would also see damage to the back of the head. Plus I’ve never heard of over mating causing wing feathers to drop. It is late for a winter molt but not totally unheard of.
 
I feed them a mix of layer feed, cracked corn, and bird seed. They are usually free range and I would notice them mating in the pool that I have for them but I have them secured in there shelter now because of winter and have not had a pool in there because of the negative degree weather, but i have not seen them mating and they also have stopped laying. Their behavior seems fine though.

They don't breed or lay eggs during a molt..They sound fine.
