Hello we recently acquired 15 9 month old ISA Brown hens! They were in a hurry to get rid of them cause they said they were moving so we took them. It’s been super cold here ( -46 with the wind) we have lost 2 :( another was dying so I brought her into the house to warm her up... then all these lice or mites piled off her the towel had 100’s ! I quickly cleaned the area but unfortunately she perished too... so I’m thinking the hens are all infested that’s why they didn’t want them ... I am going to go out when it’s not so cold to check them over.. if it is mites or lice can you still eat thier eggs? I have heard of natural remedies like garlic juice ash wood demectrus earth etc does anyone have experience with these or the infestation in general never had this happen before and new to rasing chickens ! Thanks! 4577D9B4-2295-4D27-966D-575E4121E840.jpeg
