My show silkies have growths on their beaks. One of the new born chicks also has it. The majority do, my rooster doesn’t though.

It might be an injury from metal feeder or fencing, or from pecking. Sometimes there is a papillomavirus that can cause a lump on the beak, but it looks a bit different. Let us know if it goes away. Try a little betadine or iodine on it to help dry it up.

The chickens are in different flocks and the cops are hard wire cloth. Do you know where I can buy that stuff?

You can buy betadine or povidone iodine at Walmart and pharmacies in the first aid supplies, or in most feed and farm stores in the horse aisle.
