The chick is alive but having a hard time getting out looks like the egg got smooshed anything I can do

Most often better if not they tend to be weaker but if you want see if the shell very careful can help open it little by little than leave the rest to mama hen

I zipped around the shell just the hard shell and moistened the white part which I'm assuming is the membrane and put back under the hen or am I supposed to take some of the white part off too

the white part the chick eats from that is like a umbilical cord it is attached till they hatch
better to leave that now let nature do it's thing
