That’s a relief to hear...I’m always worried about duckies in cold weather.Personally, I am a firm believer that they will be fine.
My friend has domestic ducks who permanently live outside, on the lake. And we consistently hit double negatives.
Mine go inside with a smorgasbord of pelleted food, dried mealworms, peas, oyster shells, chick grit and more fresh straw that they know what to do with. Lots of clean water.I know I could never leave mine out over night and why make them endure the frigid temps if they have a house they can be in out of the weather. Herding them inside a safe dry house filled with deep shavings is where I want mine to be. And probably most on here want the same for theirs.
I go overboard and spoil my beloved pets.Mine go inside with a smorgasbord of pelleted food, dried mealworms, peas, oyster shells, chick grit and more fresh straw that they know what to do with. Lots of clean water.
These silly ducks really get to your heart, don’t they.it was -15 one night it was frigid. I heated up 3 gallon water jugs with hot water and put them in, The ducks didnt huddle to them, or each other. Just slept like any night
