help!

i adopted some pigeons about a week ago and one of them flew away. he is about a year old and i still have his mate. he does not trust people very much, but we are working on it. we adopted him from a bird rescue(he was only at the rescue a few days), and he was abused in his last home. i’m afraid that he is going to go fly back to his old home. any advice?

What breed of pigeon? Many breeds do not have much of a homing instinct while other breeds do. If your unsure of the breed, posting a picture will help.

I am unsure as to breed. Have you posted this bird before? It looks very familiar. A trumpeter cross breed. As such it may have homing instincts. I'd keep it caged.

he was caged but got out during a feeding. he is a very scared bird because of his last home yes we posted him before, he’s an arch angel pigeon
