I'm sure you would have stated if it happened, but just thought I'd ask. You are not aware of any injuries that occurred previously, or any ideas on how it happened?

I have absolutely no idea, which is what makes me so concerned. It's like it popped up over night.

Do you mean when they went outside for the first time? If so it was over a week and a half ago they've been inside other than that

Oh sorry I just saw that you said chicks. They were removed about 2-3 weeks ago

It looks better now but if it keeps opening up in small spots it’s a grub or bot fly. I rescued a kitten that had a spot that looked like that even in the healing picture. @Miss Lydia do you think if they hold that spot under the water for a few minutes the grub would stick it’s head out or prove it’s not a grub? It just looks so much like a bot fly strike. I hope it heals up with out any issues
