Second time hatching. 3 ducks hatched last time out of 4 at day 27
Oh yeah, that little guy is excited to come out! And that’s pretty good! I’ve hatched out 3 sets of ducks successfully, although I don’t consider myself an expert. The ones that pipped, I would not turn them and just leave them the way they are facing. Finish up the rotating tomorrow with the remaining ones that haven’t pipped. Either way, the ones that have pipped, they will take a few days to hatch so that might land them at day 27. I’ve had them hatch at day 26 before and 29, alive and well.
I’m not sure about other people but when the eggs go into lockdown, I candle them, make to make sure they are moving around well and if you can see their bill. What is your humidity and temp at?

So my real question is, should I place them in the hatching Matt as they are still on the rollers. Am I safe to open the incubator to do this. They are sitting in 37.6 and 75%

One has tip of bill second I can see bill
Yeah he’s working hard! I wouldn’t encourage them or talk to them quite yet if that’s something you do. The thing to worry about is their yoke sac not being completely attached if they come out too early.

I would say yes. As long as it’s quick they should be good.

I will do it today. I’m worried and just want them in lockdown
Ducks are surprisingly sturdy little creatures. But I understand the stress of it, especially rotating by hand for nearly a month and getting excited to meet them. Well good luck with your hatch!!
