I'm raising four barred rock chicks for a poultry show and I received them a few days ago. That also should be hens and I am only allowed to show a hen, but one of the chicks is acting strangely(for a hen). "She" is standing very tall, flaps around and stomps when you try to pick "her" up, and she stands on top of the heat plate and water. Does anyone have any tips on identifying if this chick is male or female?? The chicks are all around 1 week old.

At one week old, behaver is not a very good indicator of sex.
Most like there will also be to young to tell in any other way to.
Do post some photos though, because one might be able to tell something!

Here are the photos of my four barred rock 1 week old chicks.
If you can, please identify which of these are male and which are female!!
I am taking these chicks to show in May, but may contact the office I received them from if there are males. I am only allowed to show hens.
