I have a 6 month old Polish hen. Who we found laying down, not able to stand. She lost all balance and can't walk or stand on her own. Put her in a Bath To cool her off But no change, she will drink out of a syringe. Looks weak.

Try to get her hydrated with sugar water, electrolytes. Watery chicken feed could be offered after she is drinking. What do her poops look like? Could she have been injured? How hot has it been there? Do you have more than one water and feed station and is she in a mixed flock with other breeds? Does she have any food in her crop? Is she low in pecking order? Hopefully, it is just dehydration, and not something more serious such as Mareks. Coccidiosis can cause extreme weakness, so it should be also considered.

Have not seen her poop only a little clear crop was empty so trying to add water food, high 90s, they are free range so around 3 different waters and get feed 2 times a day, in a mixed flock, low order.

Update she has been Staying inside for the past 2 days. Had to hand feed her with wet chicken food. Now starting to eat on her own, still working on drinking. She's very skinny but can stand and walk without falling. Put her outside tonight to hang out with the others. But still gonna bring her in to try to get her to drink and eat some more. She definitely lost a lot of motor function. But it seems she's gotten most of it back. Praying for a full recovery.

Thank goodness she is doing better. How do the others treat her? Can she see well enough to eat and drink normally? Do you think that she got dehydrated? Let us know how she is doing tomorrow. If you can give her some vitamin E 400IU and 1/2 tablet B complex crushed in food once daily, that might give her some more strength.

Ok I have been giving her hydro hen I think she had a heat stroke because of how hot it is. She can see and doing good with the other chickens, she was always at the bottom for the totem poll so that has not changed. Hoping for the best.
