Not a disease. I would rule out mites if I were you, but it sure looks like she's getting picked on.

ok thank you i use seven duster on them as soon as spring starts i have never seen picking be this bad. i mean my other chicken i have seperated also had a swollen face it was black and blue and there was a hole in her head from a beak but this is a new level! i have her in a pen with ducks...if that could be a problem all ten of them are seperated i have the 6 babies which is where snowflake was and there are 3 ducks and 2 other chickens

how big is your pen / run? Are you feeding them the right feed, feather picking is usually several things. Feed deficiency and overcrowding.

What type of environment do you have them in - how many in how big an area?

They are definitely picking - get some ROOSTER BOOSTER NO PICK and smear that on there or quickly get some NO PICK anywhere on any chicken supply site and put it on there ---

We've had that happen - and once it starts you have to get it under control IMMEDiATELY!!

DO NOT leave the hens in that are being picked - they will be picked to death in a short time or the picked places will become real bad and you'll have more trouble than you bargain for.

Get a handle on the situation quickly. Address the problem. Stop the picking, remove the picked and address their wounds.
