Ok. I'm sorry. This is my first time posting here. I have 15 hens left, 2 barred rock and 13 Buffs. I have had then since they were babies and bought them from our local feed store. I don't show them, they are strictly for eggs and pleasure. They have been completely healthy until now. Not sure if we should even eat the eggs we are getting???
I went to feed yesterday morning and collect eggs and found a barred rock in the nest dead. I noticed that they had barely touched the food and water... I also have a friends duck in with them and he has been in there for a few months so I don't think that's the issue. This morning I went out and there was a buff dead. One of the others hens looks like she is "wet" not soaked but damp. They seem to have runny poop, I don't see blood. I will go and look at them more closely and give you better details.
I am going down to the feed store right now to get some antibotics to put in there water...(suggestion to another post that had similar problems)
stay tuned, if you can think of anything .. should I strip the coop ? disinfect? If so with what?? I am new to the whole chicken thing. I had them growing up but they were free range and never really worried about stuff like this. I appreciate whatever you can tell me.
Thanks!
