Help

THere are a bunch of different mites. Some are larget than others. I think the leg ones are nearly aor are microscopic. Wash their legs well with soap and water and then dry them and coat them well with vaseline. The next day the skin should be lots more pliable. Repeat the procedure again. I had some birds that I obtained with some really bad looking legs and withing a week they were looking pretty good! THey seem a lot more comfortable now also! Good luck! Terri O

one of my bantams had a bad case of scaly leg mites that looked very similar. I was given the bantam and didnt realise she had a problem till she started to limp. but dont worry, it doesnt take long to clear up. All i did was wash my hen's legs in warm water and apple cider vinegar and then coated them with vaseline. I did this every other day for a week and she was back to normal after about 10 DAYS.. dont be alarmed if great chunks of scaly stuff come off while washing. definitely wear washing up gloves as its a bit gross!
