We were just given a mama muscovy and her two babies. We have no place for them, as our other ducks would step on the babies most likely. Any thoughts on what to do quickly??

On a side note - why do ducks wag their tails?

Do you have a dog crate? a big one... or put them in an x-pen in your garage....tarp down with shavings, thats what i did with my half grown ducklings at night...
I think the mom is supposed to protect them, but I don't know if she's new too???

Actually what happened is not that we don't want them or anything. See, the people we got our other ducks from are moving, and this hen was sitting when we got the others - so we didn't get her. They have been going back and forth on giving us or not - they weren't sure if they could keep them or not. We got a call today so we didn't not have any advance notice.

A dog kennel is a good idea

Muscovies wag their butts when they are HAPPY

If you have a large dog kennel take it apart and butt the two open ends up together makes a larger pen and they can see out. That is if they don't fly.
