Help! --------------------------------

Wow! I hope he'll be okay.
You could try dampening the feed, that might make it easier for him.
If he's coughing, the food might be getting stuck going down, my chickens will sometimes cough when they're eating.
make sure he's drinking enough.
But I'm not sure about other causes of chicken cough... Sorry!
Good luck and :welcome

Thanks!

i had made his food a little moist but he just wouldn't eat it.
He seems to like it better dry.
And i hope he'll be okay too, i keep him inside because of predators, and well, he can't really defend himself without a beak, so i keep him inside.

I am thinking about building him a coop, would that be a good idea?

He'll probably need you to help feed him though.
If you make the coop secure enough you could let him stay outside. I'm just thinking he might get a bit lonely on his own

poor fella, how is he able to drink? I agree with making sure his food is moist so he can get h2o that way... good luck with his. He is a really handsome roo though.

Yeah, i agree, that's why i recently got him a friend,
so now i have two birds living in my room!

he drinks by putting his whole face into the water, and his feathers underneath his wattle get really soaked, i think that's why he might be coughing.

Wow. That's pretty intense.
Um... you could try using a water dropper, and put a little bit of water directly into his beak - would that work?

Yeah, I have done that, and it worked for awhile but he'd be moving and it was hard to get the water into his mouth, He just grew accustomed to drinking his water like that, he simply just looks like a dog lapping it up.

He's eating hooray!!! Ii'm not sure bout the water, my chickens get their faces wet anyway!

Maybe make it a little shallower, I don't think you need to worry so much about the coughing yet though.
