My day old chick had pasty butt and I'm not sure for how long I have spent the last 20 min trying to get it clean and I feel like I have, but she isn't pooping, she's standing up tall on her tippy toes trying but nothing is COMMING out!! Idk what to do. Is there a possablitliy there's some stuck inside that I can't see. I've been rubbing it for a while and I'm scared I might have rubbed it too much. There still a little but dry underneath but not exactly on her vent! Plssss help!
What should I do or is she going to be ok!! She won't stop chirping and standing up very tall

Okay so the first thing you can do is take a q tip and a little olive oil and wipe that on and around her vent, that should help to "loosen" things up. Then you can put some apple cider vinegar in the drinking water, that will help to prevent it form happening again. Hope this helps some.

Thank you sooo much for answering! I'm sorry I have posted so muchon the last few days! Just very OCD with having to know the solution to every problem. And this one I do not.
I have vegtable oil will this be as safe?
And how much apple cider should I put in the water?
She still hasn't pooped but I placed a stuffed animal in there and she has fallen in and out of sleep. But is standing up. Was the just stretched out and chirping because she was cold from her wet hiney?
I'm almost positive it is gone.

Yes that's a major possibillty that she was just cold and a bit uncomfortable, vegetable will also work, remember, it should only take a little. Sorry i can't believe I forgot to mention how much vinegar! Okay so if you have a waterer like this( sorry I don't know the correct term for it!) then i
would only put a teaspoon in to start and then if she still has the problem then another one until it's gone. And hey we should ask questions and it's good to see people that do! I ask a ton of questions myself so thank you whoever made this site!

Thank you so much!! I will try to give her a little piece of lettuce! And add the vinegar. I'm a bit paranoid that the more she eats the more clogged it will be and it is getting late. Should I be worried that she hasn't pooped that I've seen since it was clogged?
And yes thank goodness for this site!!! My chicks are very grateful!

Oh I actually meant to say vegetable oil, I probably wouldn't feed her the lettuce, but if you already did then it's fine and may even help her, sorry I should have looked at what I wrote better.. If she is asleep then I wouldn't be worried. Do the oil thing and then it's safe to sleep for the both of you.
