We moved to the country in October and purchased 4 blue wheaton hens, 1 blue wheaton rooster, 2 silver pencil, 2 brown red, and 3 wheaton americonnas, 8 silver lace wiandots, 9 really nice rhode island reds, and 2 jersey gianthens. This spring we added 6 buff orpington poulets, 6 lakenvelder poulets, 12 highline (4H project), 4 phoenix poulets & 2 phoenix cockrels and 4millie de fluer poulets & 2 cockrels. In the brooders now are white midget turkeys, blue andiluions, silver duckwing, bb reds, butter cups and broilers. On mothers day our neighbors dog (2 mile away) come over and killed half of our adult show quality chickens. They were acting cooperatively when the sherrif was here and now are not wanting to make things right with restitution. they thing that our chickens should be able to be replace at $8-9 per bird. I know that the lowest price any of them should be is $50. I have a ton of pictures and have reciepts for some of them. I am going to be in contact with the sherifs office in the morning and asking them to press charges against tehm for the dog being visious and comming on to our property and doing massive damage. I have been told by a poultry judge and our poultry superintendant to ask for people to write affadavit's as to price to replace these birds. If you can help or have any sugestions please let me know.
Thanks,
Jamie
