HELP!!!!

Not at this point - I haven't taken on the project of building a BSFL bucket system, but it is on my list of things I might like to do to reduce feed costs. It may not help me that much because they need warmer weather, and in the warm season, I can take the ducks on foraging walks where they fill up on worms and slugs, so it would be redundant for me.

You can help combat them by racking the mess from under the pool deck area. Also building a frame and adding gravel under their house so when you dump the pool it drains onto rocks. We have 4 raised pens from wheen we kept call ducks. They all get raked out from under and ag lime spread. I would suggest cleaning the pool more often. We do all pools daily plus give buckets of water for drinking. I wouldnt want warm dirty water for drinking so I figure our ducks and geese appreciate clean water as well. (even though they muck it up quickly)

Thx CelticOaksFarm. As a 1st timer. I'm learning what works and doesn't work as I go. Lol. Thx for the tips. And Amiga. I tried. My ducks were not impressed or even remotely interested in eating them. Lol. They're looks and reaction was priceless. I have another question I hope y'all can help with. Now that my girl is laying. I'm getting a good egg one day and then a cracked egg another. Almost like she pecked at it. Since she just started laying is this something that will go away in time or a behavior I need to be proactive about?

it could also be from hitting a hard surface when laid or being stepped on against a hard surface. Make sure she has plenty of straw to nest in and lay her eggs in. Check the shells to make sure they arent thin. If thin she is lacking calcium, always have oyster shell in a bowl of its own free choice for her.

Its always a learning curve when first starting. A cap full of bleach helps in pools too, but nothing beats changing the water daily.
