Black combs are never a good sign, is the bird in shock? Keep him in a warm, quiet dark place, so he can de-stress. I hope he will be alright. Dogs are a major killer of chickens. You never hear of a chicken killing a dog. I'm sorry your family evidently doesn't respect your pet and your feelings. They are not "just a chicken."

I have read a post like this before and you should really be posting in the Emergency's-Injuries-Diseases not the New Members Trend ....

Hope your chicken recovers and do you have any photos of your chicken ???????

Welcome to BYC!

I am so sorry about the dog attacks. You should probably keep the chickens in a secure run if you have dogs about. As Drumstick Diva has said, keep the bird warm and in a quiet area. Definitely post this thread in our emergency section for help with wounds.
