Hello my chick has hatched but it still has its yoke sack attached to its egg I don't know what to do will it dry up? It's not very big but it's big enough , please help he's still in the incubator he's on a warm damp flannel ( as his shell was drying up) xx

Are you sure it's the yolk sac and not the egg goo connected by the "cord"? Being "attached" the the shell I would sooner assume it's egg goo/cord which isn't that big of a deal. Can you get a pic?

Next Time
Twist the egg shell until the "Umbilical Cord" is just a tiny, thin thread. Leave it Attached to dry. It will break when he begins to move around. Normally As the chick works his way, peckig as he turns around in the egg, The cord is twisted and usually breaks as he exits the egg. the Twisting cuts the circulation from chick to shell. the veins covering the inside of the shell is the oxygen supply during incubation. As Soon as the chick breaks a hole in the shell, his lungs begin to take over. But the blood passing thru the cord has to be twisted to cut off the flow of blood to the eggshell or he bleeds to death when the cord just breaks.
