So I had a chick start to hatch...I waited and waited and waited, and after OVER 48 hours of absolutely NO progress (the pip was in the middle of the egg) I decided to help it out... It was partially shrink wrapped inside the egg but I was able to get it out and cleaned off... there is a clearish goop hanging where I'm guessing the yolk sac should have been... but it isn't yellow like yolk, it is like clear mucous... and there was poo inside the egg with the chick (it is also stuck to the clear goop... right now I have the chick under the lamp (at about 95 degrees) and left the goop and the remaining part of the shell (the goop is attached to it) on the chick... what should I do, leave it be and hope for the best, or gently snip away at the goop leaving only a small amount on the chick??? PLEASE HELP!!! I know it is a shot in the dark even saving the poor lil fella, but I have to try!
Edited to add, this one was actually due on the 20th... and that is when it pipped...
