Helped chick...will it survive?

Aww. Yeah never help a chick hatch. Some take 48 hrs to hatch. We may think they are 21 days but it doesn’t hurt to let em keep incubating past 21 days. I don’t know if it will survive but I would still be hopeful but definitely don’t help more chicks in the future, they all know what to do.

There are some instances where assisted hatching is necessary.

I’ve assisted a few and they all turned out fine.

I completely agree. I once had to help a chick out of it’s shell cuz it was on the floor getting eaten by ants. There are rare instances and exceptions to every rule of course.

All babies are doing great! They are all eating and drinking!

So glad your little chickie is okay! I hatched my first eggs about a month ago and I ended up having to help the last egg hatch. I was absolutely terrified because I know you aren’t supposed to but It was my fault for opening the incubator too early I think, so I could see the dried membranes and she was definitely stuck. It all went well thank goodness and she is perfectly fine! But I will NOT be opening the incubator until everyone is hatched next time...
