Alice, my Silver Sebright has gone broody.

I haven't bothered her yet to count the eggs in her clutch; earlier she was not covering all of them and I thought it would be easy. They're not all hers. But as you can see by the photo, she turned to cover them all. I am going to have to go back out there and mark the eggs so I can tell if any more are added.

I have a bunch of other photos taken today I want to share. Anybody up for seeing some of my flock?

Yay! That's all I need: just one "go ahead and share!"

This is Buffy, my Vampire Slaying BO and surrogate mom of my very first GrandChick. She has decided this cardboard box on the porch, filled with packing paper, is the perfect nest box. She has also convinced a few other hens of the same thing. I gather at least 3 eggs from it every day.

Carl, first and dominant Rooster. He's a wonderful roo, treating his ladies nicely, protecting the flock (and some visitors, when one of the little PITA Sebright roos gets all up at their ankles), and I love him.

Three Splash Jersey Giants. These are 3 of six JGs I hatched from Wynette's eggs; got 3 splash, 2 blue and 1 black.
