I'll be on and off today, Sonja so keep posting how your Butter baby is doing. Candled a few minutes ago and no internal pips-just some small movement. I WILL be patient and give them a chance to do their thing before I help them.

Yep...more than likely. Dont forget the black babies too. IF my butter baby hatches, it will be alone for a week. Maybe I need to sew a duckling sling so I can carry it everywhere with me lol. Did I mention I am a sewing fool??? I even have an embroidery machine. I used to have two but I sold one. When I told DH about the babies this morning I also told him that I was going to look for more eggs. He said "OK". I was expecting an argument but he didnt

Mine has figured out that if I have lost one-that is not the time to tell me not to get more. He knows better. I'm hoping all 4 of my eggs hatch so I'll have some ducklings to keep Little Miss White duckling company!
I hadn't forgotten the Blacks-I just meant that my Blue Fawn Pied is the hold-up right now. Velvet(Black hen) is laying really well for me, right now.

I am sitting outside and it is 72 here. I have brought the baby geese outside in the call duck pen to play. They won't get two feet away from me. They are so cute. They are trying to eat my toes lol.

Aww goodness that's adorable! Its hot here today. I took the butters out today too. They were scared so I took them back in lol they are still tiny so its ok!

Nothing fro my Butters yet and I'm not seeing any big movement in the shell.

They're still alive(or they were) just not trying real hard to pip yet.
Cloudy, windy and not as smoky today. They say they have the fire 75% contained-thank God. Hopefully we'll get some rain soon! I HATE fire season during drought years.
DH is on vacation for 2 weeks so he wants to finish my breeding pens for the ducks(these are some extras so I can add some colors/varieties).
I have not been able to get myself good and awake for the last 2 days...I need a nap or something.

I also caught a rat snake today! Just a baby but I let it go in the woods. Boy my quail sure are laying fools! And my white silkie hen has only missed one day this last week. I put some of her eggs in bator to see how they look! Ill be candling tonight. I only have 2 white call eggs developing and I just got my other call eggs today! Sent 14... I sure hope I get a good rate on these. I'm putting them in this evening. Anyone want some quail eggs?
