My internet crapped out on me tonight

. It just came back on. In my downtime I have discovered good news and bad news. The bad news is: I candled my wyandotte eggs. I am really bummed. Today is day 6 and it appears that only 9 of the 31 eggs are developing. They had a super rough shipping job and a few were broken upon arrival. The guy I got them from did not wrap them very well at all. I am going to leave the others in the bator though just in case and I will try again around day 14 or so and see what is happening. My GOOD news is this: I candled my call eggs too and I seen blood veins and little black dots in 11 out of 13 eggs. I was amazed because the shells are super thin. Of course this is only day 3 and they may end up quitting me before it is over. I am not going to get my hopes up but we are at least starting out ok.

Good morning all!
Sonja I'm sorry about your wyandotte eggs! Hope some more work out! But on another note yay on your call eggs! Woot woot! I won't get too excited but I will definitely keep my fingers and toes crossed for you!
Today is a weird day for me. My sister is bringing my niece out so I can watch her till next wed. Her and my daughter are only two months apart and they just love each other. Only problem is she is SUPER busy and kinda destructive! Makes me nervous around my eggs and birds... She's not nice to my dogs or cat either. Don't misunderstand me I love her so much and she isn't a bad kid just more busy than I'm used too...

Glad to hear about the veining in the Calls, Sonja, but too bad about the Wyandottes.
ady-Hope all goes well with your little visitor. My little niece can WEAR ME OUT-she's not bad at all, just has to be movin' and shakin' all the time.
Trying to find out what to do for my little Call hen with an irritated eye(The Queen)...she's a firecracker on a good day and just won't stop trying to fling, wash, rub the medicine out of her eye.

Hope you all have a good one...oh, I contacted the lady that is dispersing her flock of Calls to get shipping prices and am waiting to hear back from her.

I have one of those, my son. He never stops moving! I love him to death and wouldn't trade him for anything in the world but boy does the house get quiet when he goes out to play, lol He is also my extra lovey kid so it all works out. Good luck!
