OK, I'm back. Ducks were asleep and didn't want to be bothered...they're bored, too, I guess.
I think it's gonna rain.

Well, I am home and my chick is doing well. I just put it in the brooder. The yolk sac is still showing but it is dried up and hard. He is eating now. The silkies are teaching him the ropes. How is everyone doing today?

I'm finally back from the kids doctor apt. Little one who was crying that her throat hut has an ear infection

Big one had to be held down to get a swab of his throat has strep. Our new insurance doesn't pay up front for prescriptions but thankfully the grocery store gives out free antibiotics. Now we can rest up for the rest of the weekend so they are good as new Monday for school.

Those are pretty geese Duck but

on the price for 2 eggs.

Howdy all!
Glad you got the littles to the doctor, justme.
Sounds good for your chick, Sonja-sounds like he's going to do OK.
OK, I got bored so I went out and cleaned duck pools and something is happening MAJORLY!
DUCK ORGY(not the typical duck orgy, either)! I'm sure hoping that's a sign that my girls are going to start laying VERY SOON!

Well, I have several of my Whites together, but the rest are separated into trios or pairs.
I have my 2 best White drakes in with a group of White hens.

Well, after about 2 weeks-this is my girls first laying season so their first couple of weeks of eggs will probably be a combo of soft shell/teeny ones.
As soon as we get that squared away, though, we'll start trying to hatch some of OUR ducklings!
