I have hoop coops with no floor, just dirt. I also do deep litter. The year it flooded, the corners they had dust bath holes dug filled with water. I put pine pellets down. Worked out well. I have an apron around the outside so only thing that has dug in was moles.

Everyone scares me that if there is no bedding, then parasites will appear

Parasites show up anyway. The problem is with a dirt floor instead of concrete or wood is cleaning out everywhere the parasites could hide. I put sulfur powder before I put the bedding on top. I also put elemental sulfur powder in the dust bath. About a lb.

They will appear anyway. Hard to get rid of too.
