this is a shot of the adjustable roller.
move it up to let the legs touch the floor.

I adjusted one blade, it didn't go too badly. the hardest part is getting the blade loose after removing the wedge screws.
I was working outside. then it got cold after the sun went behind the trees.

I did a lot of research on utube about setting the cutter knives.
one with a dial indicator on a magnetic stand really caught my attention.
I can order one from Amazon for about #26.oo. it is something I can use seldom, but would really be handy when I need it.
I now have two jointers that I can us it on.
and somehow I might be able to use it with my table saw, also..

I napped through the whole Badger football game. Annie woke me in time to watch the last two minutes.. best game I ever slept through.. LOL

I have one of those, probably paid about the same at Harbor Freight.
Does the magnet 'turn off'?
Could slide it along jointer deck for blade height.
Could mount it to something rigged to run in miter gauge slot for table saw blade to check for parallel.
Indeed one of those tools that are rarely used,
but the best and sometimes only thing will really work.

well, I bit the bullet and went out in the cold and tried adjusting the jointer cutters by the old ruler method.
never tried that before.
long story short, it worked.
I got rid of the snipe altogether..
I don't think I am going to order that gage afterall. at least not for awhile.
my next step is to make a jig for sharpening the cutters.
lots of ideas for that on utube .

don't let the sun fool you, it is cold out..

our Packers play tonight. I wonder what new ideas they (MMc & H) will come up with to make them lose this time ??

Ugh, i think men in Virginia must be among the laziest on earth! Today our contractor says he is going to the hospital for gout. I would be sympathetic but he lies so much you never know what is real and what is a lie.

I hope you haven't paid them yet Cap.

55F and sunny today, low wind....gorgeous!!
ShopVac 'Dusted' parts of the coop, most especially the top windows that were open all summer gathering enough dust to inhibit sunlight penetration now that they are closed...(crazy!); CockTailSaver panel(piece of heavy vinyl) put up behind roost, it may do no good, but I wanted to try it, we shall see; much other coop stuff put away inside or rearranged to increase space navigation.
Surprised shop vac didn't bother birds too much, even MollyMaransMix, who finally seems back to laying after her little semi-broody spell a couple weeks ago, laid her egg while vac was running....now if only the black capped chickadee finds it way out of the coop....smh.

So all the winter chicken stuff is now done.
Wednesday supposed to be sunny but only 45F, hope forecast holds as got a guy coming to help with yard work.
