do like I do, lie about how much you get done.. :lau

sometimes when I get the lazies, I just go out and start to putter around. before you know it something catches my interest and gets worked on.
but there are plenty of times when I just can't get into the putter mood, either.

I ran a little cross grain through the jointer today. it cut it as smooth as can be.

tried Plans A, B, and C for the blade hold down on the jig. tomorrow I will try plan D

Art, you have to pay close attention when you hire someone to do a repair. then the next time you will know how..

I did my own in floor hydronic heat in the sunporch addition I built. I used a 30 gal electric water heater. it is still working after 15 years. but it is expensive to operate. we run it only during the coldest part of winter.. and then, only if we absolutely have to..

I did indeed......that's why I will likely replace the next pump that goes. ;)
Main guy was great at answering questions and explaining, and he was training the other guy with him.

I did a bunch of nothing today, only got about half of what i set out for. No great buys and i never made it to Walmart. Wait until hubby discovers i didn't get gas for the mower! The snow blower came today, hubby used it to blow leaves!
Something is wrong with this woodstove, kicking smoke out in the house and no smoke alarms going off. What a place!:(

is the damper open? or is it windy outside, sometimes a certain angle will blow it back in

Yeah, we checked the damper. It is almost always windy here. But it has been messed up 2 nights in a row. I think we need a better stove any way but the stove pipe might need cleaning idk.

my stove in the shop does that smoking routine. what you have to do is get some heat going up the chimney. once that happens, the stove will draw just fine.
i just burn news papers one crumpled up page at a time. by the time it starts to draw, the room is full of smoke. but I open the outside doors and the air soon clears..
for the first firing each time, I let the fire burn with all dampers wide open. after that I fuel up again and then I damper down about half way. I like a robust flame

If you can keep at least a coal going, the stove should not smoke anymore..

I have a single wall pipe coming right off the top of the stove going into a triple wall stack at the ceiling.
I am going to see if I hold a heat gun against the single wall pipe for a few minutes if that will heat it up enough to avoid the smoke..
