Awesome !!! I'm a 68 yo gramma, also taking too many breaks in this humidity, dang its a wet summer here. Building my first coop and hoping to move the chicks in tomorrow then finish the run. Would LOVE to finally have it done this weekend. Vacay week is over so back to work on Monday. Designed and built by myself -- never built a building before. It's a bit crooked here and there but the chicks won't care. ;) Progress is on a thread Gramcraker's coop. Agreed much more interesting than watching TV.
You can't take too many breaks if that is what your body needs. Does no good to land yourself in hospital. Husband wanted me to paint the ramp into the new garage shed in full sun yesterday and i refused. Said i will do it when it gets shady there. By then it was raining so it would have been messed up anyway. I never bought plans for anything, always design my own. Not perfect, but whatever works!

I just came in for another break,.
funny, I thought to myself, these breaks are taking longer than the work time.
humid here today, and now the sun is beating down on my project spot.
I did get the final grading done and have 3 of the four sides of the forms fastened in..
it is a little out of square, but I can fix that when I start putting the walls up..
I have all the framing lumber on the pick up truck.

Be careful and drink lots of water. Had those kind of days a few weeks ago with humidity and 98 - 103 actual temp. Not fun. For me wishing a breeze would appear but not too bad so far here. Painting so easy work so far. You are doing the hard stuff.

Yeah, i am pretty glad my coop is in a shady place. Makes a lot of difference. Good luck today, drink lots of fluids.

I have been trying to hire a younger guy to work, but I can't find any willing workers.
My one nephew told me ,
"No thanks, I don't need any extra money".
What ?? I always needed extra money..

Most young guys are too busy playing video games. At least both of my sons have regular jobs.

3 of my 15yo grandsons were willing but have all been working this summer so we couldn't seem to mesh schedules. It's 2 hours round trip so they aren't real close. Then when I manage to schedule a week off work it's the week they are back in school. Break is over, back to building.

The work ethic of these young folks is disappointing. Most of them are adults still living in their childhood bedroom or parent's basement. Self-serving, arrogant, know-it-all, disrespectful and irresponsible idiots. Video games are not cheap, and if they lived on their own, they wouldn't be buying so many with their damn minimum wage jobs. They're still under mommy's and daddy's roof. They've got it easy and milking it to their advantage. Wait until they get put out there on their own with no basic survival training, can't even boil a pot of water.

Tell us how you really feel :D Hmmm... have some progeny dwelling in your own abode maybe?

True of many, I'm sure, but not all as evinced by CF's post:
