Speaking of mosquitoes, they are particularly bloodthirsty this year in Tennessee. Including the chiggers, and the ticks, I have a half dozen itching bumps scattered across my poor old body right now.
Only 6? You must stay inside a lot. Fortunately the guineas and clearing brush have decreased the tick population in our part of VA.

I cut and painted some plywood for the turkey coop today. And painted any parts of the frame i could reach without a ladder. Tomorrow i will take a ladder down there, as i already loaded it on the Mule.
Sure wish it would cool down some.

good morning, at least the nights are cool enough to sleep with the windows open..
Yesterday I started early in the morning and picked up branches and mowed under the pine trees until 1PM. got a lot done.
the bees found the tractor way on the other side of the property. I am going to get a mist type of bug spray. that wasp bomb was like spraying redi whip creme at them. and there is not very much product in the canister..
If I can get the tractor near the house, I will try knocking the nest out with the water hose pressure nozzle.
I hope I don't have to fight with them all summer.
......jiminwisc......

ETA: I went out at 7AM and mowed til 8. Got about half done.
the grass is hay length already. Looks like I will have to mow twice a week if I want to keep up with it.
I was supposed to do the first oil change at 5 hours.
the meter read 12 hours when I started this morning.
whoops !!!
I parked the mower on a slanted part of the yard . the oil should drain better that way. I have to run to F&F to pick up an oil filter

I never did get anything done on the turkey tractor since i got a great deal on a big dog run with a roof over and i had to go take it apart and pick it up. Going to use part of it to enlarge the chicken run and part for the turkey run.
Had more quail hatch. I need to sell quail and eggs because i don't have enough cages for all of them.

It always amazes me that no one reads the Manuel that comes with their new mower...... not many people get around to changing the oil until the next season. .. so bravo to you jim!

remember what I said about 2,000,000?
just because they are tiny, doesn't mean tiny cages. LOL

I picked up two of those dog kennels for free. I put them both together to make one. it is one section wide and two sections long, (7ft x 14ft) ..
I lined the bottom with 2ft high chicken netting, then I made pvc "rafters" and covered the top with chicken netting..
I have used it for tiny chickens , guineas, turkeys, ducks and dogs .
Now that I don'g have birds anymore, I want to get rid of it. only whoever buys it will have to take it apart; not I..

I screwed on 2 pieces of plywood, one on the front and one on the side. Then i went back to the house and am sitting enjoying the ac.

smart move, I went out long enough to change the oil filter and water the dog.
just about got ate up by mosquitoes ..
our resident hit a deer about a mile from our house last night.
Annie called me from work. she said when she drove past it, there was a crow and a bald eagle eating on it..
