good morning,
I don't know if I mentioned this or not.
On Tuesday I took a full fledged fall flat onto my back.. I was sitting on a plastic lawn chair and pulling weeds. got a hold of a thick stubborn raspberry cane. was pulling hard and it broke off. the chair and I tipped over backward. Annie asked me if I was hurt. I said , no, I landed nice and flat. well a few hours later I realized I was hurt..I must have whip lashed my neck.
I slept only about 3 hours last night.
makes me mad.. I just got a clean bill of health from the chiropractor last week.
if I don't heal up over the weekend, I will be seeing him on Monday..
but I did manage to finish pulling all the weeds. but right at this minute, I wish I had never started that project..
all will end up well, I am sure.

good-ish news.. the demolished elderberry bush is pushing up new shoots all over the place.. I hope they can establish themselves before winter..
I am tempted to take the tractor and loader and dig a big hole. fill it in with compost and dirt and transplant that whole root system.. faaaar away from the road..

It's amazing how quickly something can happen and feel fine for a while... ice and heat alternating helped me

I think the whip lash was because I held my head forward so I wouldn't bounce it on the ground
Exactly.
Have had it a couple times, last was falling on the ice last winter.
Better a sore neck then a cracked skull.
Yes, gentle stretching will help too.
Could even do some self massage if you can get your arms up that far.

put heat on the back for awhile. took a shot of hemp oil, feeling better. later on I will try an ice pack..
I am thinking I will try rooting some of the grape vines I cut loose.can't hurt to try,eh?
going to try some green shoot rooting of elderberries, too.. there is a bush a little way up the hill from our driveway to take some cutting from..

ETA
it threatened to rain all night, finally at 7 AM it started to rain..., a nice steady soaking rain. I don't think it will last too long..

today I went and separated the grape vines.
they are all lying on the ground. I figure I have about 8 parent plants..
I want to have 10 new roots to transplant .
at 6 ft apart, that will make a 54 ft row.
that's enough to start on I think.
I am going to ground root them.
it seems the easiest way and if it works, I should get grapes sooner.
that is my plan, I hope it works out..
