:old:idunno:oops:
I said all that I am going to say on this subject.
No dr's appt today, maybe I will finally get the concrete poured..
....jiminwisc....

ETA: I ran about 1/4 bag short of concrete to finish the window well. I prepared what I had poured to accept a 2" thick cap later when I get more concrete. It should look OK..
I think my concrete pouring days are about over. I need a good able bodied helper if I am going to do even a small job.
I really wore myself out today..

Which subject was that?

Concrete is heavy, I spent 3-4 years doing concrete sculpture, knees and back finally couldn't handle it anymore.

Art, the "subject" was alicia's coop build.

I am in the same boat with the hips and back pain. I always have a lawn chair nearby so I can quickly sit down when the pain attacks.
In my younger years I worked for a concrete contractor. we poured walls and did flat work.
on the upside, back then we did not have to mix the concrete.
when I was building lots of decks on my own, I mixed using a drywall mixer and a 5 gallon pail. set many many posts . did it with no helper back then.
Now I need someone to hold the pail from spinning when the concrete is a little thick.
for power I use a 1/2" heavy duty 90* drill.
for filling the narrow forms, I used a feed scoop. it worked pretty well.

We must have about a dozen and a half trees and shrubs planted along the fence line so far. The posts are set in cement along the main front of the property so I should get busy and put up stakes and string to mark the raised beds. There's a lot of tourists around this weekend so fishing at the docks isn't really a good option so I guess I'm stuck being useful instead. :rant
