busy day here today, Nurse to see Annie.
DD and SO brought me two pounds of yeast and 25 pounds of flour. SO, Bob put the battery back into Ollie, battery seems to be kaput.
Sister and one of her boys are here cleaning and dusting.
GS Kalib had a flu like symptoms yesterday.
I made a pot of chicken soup and put extra black pepper in it. today he is feeling fine.
I made a batch of dinner rolls. put extra sugar in them for experiment. they are OK, but next time I am going to cut back on the sugar..
I am going to make four dozen rolls for a friend of Annie. She needs them on Tuesday.
I will be busy on Monday.

Happy Solstice to everyone and I can't wait for the days to start getting longer again! Seems like we awake up and it's getting dark.

How's Annie feeling Jim?

DP is driving to Portland today to visit Lucy, the 102 year old lady she takes care of. While in Portland she'll stop at the big Asian market to stock up on stewing hens and Chinese sausage. I talked her into spending the night in town (4 hour drive each way is too much for one day) so I won't sleep well tonight. But I'll walk over to the store and get some snacks that she hates so I won't sleep well but full. :D

Annie is doing very well,
my sister and one of her sons came yesterday and did a whole bunch of cleaning and dusting,
Today they are back and hard at it again.
I don't know how I can repay them.
took the battery to F&F . it checked out not good. still under partial warranty, Got a new one. went to put it in and as soon as the positive cable touched the battery, the starter connection smoked. ?? now what ?? I suspect the starter gear is jambed. so I did the next best thing and walked away from that problem and came down to play on the computer..

Cappy I hope you feel better for Christmas. and thereafter, too.
I got up at 5am , had coffee and at 5:3oam I started making the 3 batches of rolls for Annie's friend. I was done and cleaned up by 11:eek:oam
the rising takes so long. .
it takes only 10 to 15 minutes to mix up a batch..
Annie came in just as I was getting the last batch ready. . really broke my momentum. I forgot to let the last batch rise. I went right into making the dough balls.
guess what,, they turned out just great.
I might try doing that again the next time I make a batch for myself. saved over an hour of rising time..
