good day
I took yesterday off to deliver a puppy.
today I got a sort of early start and finished putting the siding on the first wall.
I have to trim off the extra material on the ends and then I can stand that wall up.
I might have to do it all alone. It is
12 feet long and just under 8 feet tall.

I had to take a break. on Wednesday I had one bee follow me around . just buzzing my head. went out this morning and that bee was right there again. stuck with me for 2 hours.
I am hoping when I go back out he will have forgotten me. I am almost at the point where I would rather get stung and get it over with..

I sure hope you can get help Jim, i went and recruited my neighbors, 8x10 was too much for me to handle alone. Nailing supports on the sides of the base made it a lot easier to get it in place. I have pics somewhere if you want to see them.
I don't know what it is about bees around here every time i went up the ladder the bees were buzzing around me. Then one stung me! I was not doimg anything! It started to swell right away so i took Benadryl. And i iced it . The following day it felt like a stab wound and today it is still swollen and itchy. I generally wear insect repellent but i was not that day. You can bet i will wear some next time!

OK, totally new to all this. i've got 2 chochin chickens my vet has been keeping for me while i figure out where i'm living, if i can bring them here. I know WHERE i'm going to put it... it will be "temporary" as i'll move in 1.5ish years. Is it possible to do the framework w PVC, and add plywood on the side, wood roost? they'll have the whole back yard to play in. I'm in Texas
I have never done that but it may be possible. Probably be hard to put a screw in a round surface on the other side of plywood. Let us know how it goes.

yah Aart, after working in that hot sun, I smelled, but not like food..

a few days ago I did destroy a nest of those paper wasps. I pulled out a bale of straw and got stung on the back of my hand immediately . come to think of it, it might be one of those wasps .
I wonder why it doesn't sting me, then ??
probably doing the torture thing like the one bullet in the revolver.

I did make a mistake on the original rafter lay out. but I caught it in the dry fitting before making any saw cuts.
the final pattern looks really nice..

tomorrow DD wants to freeze corn. OK with me as long as we get done before noon.
I plan on scraping about 400 ears for creamed style. I cannot tolerate the store bought field corn in a can.. that stuff is meant for animals..

Sunday is our 54th anniversary .
I can't complain, about ten of those were the happiest years of my life.:lau

Happy Anniversary! We have been together since 1974. Not many people even bother to get married these days, let alone stay that way.

You are so right.
actually I knew my wife for 5 years before we got married. we had our differences and split up a few times before we got married. got all that out of the way..
back then people didn't live together like they do nowadays.
I suppose she would have like to throw me to the dogs a few times in all those years, though.

We met in Sept '74, got engaged in Jan of '75. Married in May of '78. Wanted to finish up college.

I am tired. didn't get a nap in today.
started picking corn at 11AM by 4 PM we are all cleaned up. froze 54 pints.

Annie found 25 pints from last year in one of the freezers.

her sister took a few of those home with her.

we did just four rows of corn. there are 5 more rows left untouched.
it took 240 ears to make the 54 pints.
we had awesome corn this year.
I always plant Serendipity.. but this year the cobs were way longer and fatter than any other year.

the building was put aside for today, but I don't mind. I have my corn done..

Annie made a raspberry pie from some everbearing plants.

Ooh, raspberry pie, my favorite! I will be right over! I can't remember the last time i had some.

I got 8 more pieces of siding on the front of the coop. Plus i put some small pieces that were tricky to cut around and on the nest box. Only about 5 more pieces needed and it will be on to the next side. Except for maybe the door. I probably would have done more but not feeling great and i drove to town to sell a kitten.:yesss:
