Aart, lining up the ribs made the fit at the wall tighter..
I would like to caulk the crack, but I haven't decided what to use . I don't think there is anything that will bond with both surfaces due to expansion and contraction or vibration.
I was wondering about that rubber stuff the guy makes boats out of screens with.
keeping in mind that minus 20F is common around here..
there is one kind of caulk I know of, but it is white. but if that is all I can get, well so be it..
any suggestions ??

I think the caulk I am thinking of is used in eaves troughs .. It never hardens..
I wonder if they make a mechanical type of flashing for this application.?
this morning I started mixing up some dirt in the cement mixer. whoops, I didn't have the drum aligned with the stabilizer wheels. It tipped over. had a moment of panic while trying to turn it off. LOL lesson learned.
had to get the tractor and loader to lift it upright ..
