Helpful hints for building coops

I have been modifying a chicken tractor into a brooder for all these chicks that are outgrowing their current ones. So i needed to cover all the areas that have hardware cloth, with plywood on hinges so once it gets hot i can still open them up easily. One more piece of plywood is needed for the last door. I put a lamp cage inside, so they have a small wattage bulb. I need to see what i am doing when i feed at night.

I plan to, Gilmanor Swap is coming up soon, and people are buying chicks like crazy. But some want to buy chicks off heat, so they get to pay more! And hope to sell goats.

I don't know if I mentioned this or not.
I am putting casters on my power tools.
this is the second project. the 4" jointer.
the contractor table saw was first.
the jointer is lying on it's side on a table.
the next project is the 6" jointer.

I have been pulling weeds all over the place here.

Mostly, the goats like weeds, but not these invasive things. I am going to pull and burn them. Then plant fodder that they like.

around here, Annie has been waging war against burdock.
Canadian thistle is pretty much under control. but it does
rear it's ugly head now and then. I think the birds
broadcast it when they poop..

I learned to hate burdock when I did a lot of handspinning. Those horrid little hooks were impossible to get out!

My poultry have wiped out the burdock in the poultry yard... now if I had something that likes to eat creeping Charlie.....
