Remember when i said this build was going to be down and dirty? Little did i know i would be referring to myself! My energy level is down , and i am dirty. Made the mistake of not eating lunch because husband was helping and i didn't want him to lose focus. He had already had lunch.
Hubby came to the rescue and managed to salvage enough boards to cover two pallets and a bit more that fill the space at the far end of the coop. I managed to bash my left hand while trying to pry boards off with a pry bar and hammer. Nice blood blister.
I did some painting and nailed the welded wire to the boards on the bottom of the base on one side.
Here is a current picture, i think it is day 5 now. The contractor did not show up today so no progress there.

good rainy morning.
I still am not getting notified when someone posts on this forum.
no big deal, I check in often anyway.

I didn't get anything done yesterday.
it rained off and on and I had company during the prime time when I could have been working.
oh well, company is important, too.

I did manage to scrape the weeds off of the remaining 50 feet of potato row.
Annie said she has enough from the first dig.
so if someone comes and wants to pick up the potatoes, I will dig the rest of the row for them

tomorrow I have to drive 2 hours to deliver a puppy. from where I drop him off, he will ride in a horse trailer to southern Iowa..
then we will be down to just one pup.
He is really friendly. probably would make a good pet for children.. he is still a good watch dog, though. He notices anything out of the ordinary ..

the DD of a friend came and picked up my whiz bang chicken plucker. yesterday.
they are going to do 40 X's..
I told her 11 year old daughter that if she could catch the lone hen, she could keep her.
well she did.
so now I am officially chickenless.
I should sell the pair of geese and the 3 guinea roosters. then I would not have to feed and water all winter.

I can start fresh next spring.
I want to try some Sagitta pullets.

Well I think your rain is coming this way. So hens will get tomorrow to play out front and then it will be just the run for the next few days.

Good call on the girl catching the last hen ! Brilliant !

I think I would also get rid of the remaining 5 feathered friends for the Winter and come Spring ;)

I got errands done today. Was able to find Wheat bran at the grain store in NH for the Mealworms, should be easier then the oats.

I also got the run done to the fence and netting over it all. The netting is the PITA of the whole thing. Still need to make the door. But got something that will work for now.
Hens got to go out front for a few hours while I did the run and put things away. They are eating their feed better since I keep them in the coop till 9 and then in the run for the last few days. I also added powdered kitty food to their wet AND dry do get them to eat better. It seems to have worked.

Did not get much done today because we went shopping. When we did get back i went out and used up the can of paint i bought today. Then i nailed the wire on the other side of the hoop coop at the base. I started putting roofing together and decided i need more pieces of the foam stuff you use to install it. Don't know when i will make it to Lowes. By then it was getting dark.
Husband fell out of a tree today, about 7 feet and landed on his back on another tree. He is very sore but declined a trip to the hospital.

good evening,
you are not going to believe this, but the shed is all done. just have to paint the new pieces of wood that I nailed on, but I have to wait for a dry warmish day for that.

we had a beautiful sunset today. maybe tomorrow it won't rain ..
we have a 2 hour drive to deliver the pup.

hope your DH didn't fracture anything from his fall.
