I love potato pancakes...my latest kick has been waffle iron hashbrowns, just shred squeeze out water and out em on the iron, crispy and fast! Been thinking of trying the latke recipe in there.

what I do is mix up the pancake batter for normal pancakes, then I grate the potatoes and chop up a large onion.
makes light fluffy cakes that soak up the maple syrup.
I make my pancakes from scratch.

I am going to try to take a break from coop building today. We will see how that goes. I put 2 Hollyhocks in the ground. Went down by the river. Dog helped me dig sand!

Feels like 70 today, just so lovely and sunny!

good winter morning,
just barely above freezing here.
not going to warm up today either.

I will work on the table saw again today.
I still have to get rid of .020" run out in 24"

I think a bar clamp with just a little pressure should do it.

Next, You gotta get the dogs to put the sand into the wheelbarrow .

We had some snow mixed with the rain this morning...more is hovering nearby.
Staying inside, now that errands are done, to rest a body whipped by spending half the day yesterday crawling in and out from under the kitchen sink to replace faucet.

I am feeling Whipped today from too much digging yesterday. Feeling grumpy as a bear. I will be really glad to get this plywood up at last. I did a last trim on it today. Trying to get things done before the rain hits. Pictures later.
:hugs:hugs Sorry you are hurting too. Whoever said a change was as good as a rest was daft!

good afternoon,
I am done for the day, it's 4 o'clock.
I never was a union man, but I like their hours..

I had a real good day.
got the saw all adjusted. from .1" run out down to about .02".
it really makes a nice difference in the cuts .
I got one final sill made. just have to sand it ..
of the 1000 board feet of oak I have to choose from, , I pulled out a nasty piece. I should have gotten 4 sills out of it, , lucky to get two.

It is all rough sawn, so you can't really tell until it gets planed.

it got up to 34F here which it is right now.
not bad for working. I can handle the cold better than 70F and above.

snowed a bit, but nothing is accumulating.

just 90 miles to our north, they had 10".
good place for it. we don't need it here just yet.
I have too much junk to pick up out of the yard , yet.

I am glad someone had a good day, Jim. I nearly fell off the ladder twice. Between unlevel, hilly ground , a kind of rickety ladder and my excess bulk it was an accident waiting to happen. I even growled at the ladder at one point because i could feel it going , and it stopped! I guess i am going to have to cart the other ladder down there next time.
So i got the plywood cut, up and painted, husband even helped. Both ends need just the edge boards and wire at the very top.
I wrestled with getting the roof on in one piece, but it was just too wobbly and big to handle myself. So i took it down to half size and wrestled one piece up there and secured it but was just too grumpy, sore and tired to do any more. I will tackle that later.
Here are todays pictures:
