Yeah, but there is other stuff they need to do i am not happy doing, like wiring.

give them a deadline. in writing, have them sign it. if it is not done, hire someone else to do the wiring. to me, it doesn't sound like they are competent enough to properly do wiring..

I would have canned their butts long ago..

It is official, i am building a greenhouse! Like this, only bigger!

what are you going to cover it with ?

I framed up a 12 ft x 25 ft greenhouse a few years ago. I planned on planting just on the ground inside of it. it worked well for a couple of years for tomatoes and peppers.
then I skipped a year. the weeds over ran it. I didn't use it this year because of the dense weeds. they do grow well in nice fertile soil, don't they ??

next spring I will have to go in and rototil with the big tiller if I want to use it..

tip: if you need to enrich the soil or add dirt, do it on the area before you build the walls. I didn't do that so now I have to haul any amendments in with a wheel barrow where I could have just used the tractor and bucket and filled it in just a few hours..

I plan to use windows to build it. And the bottom couple of feet will be concrete block. I am going to install a drain pipe before i build . And i am going to build up the soil around the concrete so it will be like it is underground. Then it should be 50 degrees in there except for heat loss through the windows. I am going to have wide doors, so i can cart stuff in and out.
I will mostly be using it to start seedlings so i will build benches and probably have gravel floors for drainage. This is really going to be an adventure!

no picture of it.
I can tell you what I did for the foundation.
I put 4x4 treated posts in about 6 feet apart.
and one at each side of the two doors.
then I ran a treated 2x6 level; tight to the ground and fastened to the 4x4"s.
then I built walls off of that foundation .

my plan was to fill the inside up to the top of the 2x6's with dirt and compost. never did get it filled in completely. it takes a lot of material to fill in that much area.
hence the regret of not doing it with the tractor before putting the walls up..

Yes, I thought of that a few times.
right now I have no chickens. just one guinea rooster and a pair of geese.
got rid of everything for the winter.
.
about 50 meaties in there would make short work of any vegetation; eh?
