Helpful hints for building coops

Our family get together will be on Saturday for those who can make it. there will be a few who are not family who don't have family close.

I played with the sharpener today.
the extra set of blades were hollow ground.
I got rid of that. then one was ground crooked on one end, I fixed that too..

Next I am going to take the blades off of the 4" jointer. I am sure that they can use some TLC, too..

I am making the stuffing/dressing for tomorrow night. I will do that today. It is like soup; tastes better the next day..

Another Dr. Visit. My knees are ok except for deep bone bruises. Glad it is not a long term problem. Medication and heat are helping.
Wrapping more presents tonight. He is impossible to buy for! I almost bought him slippers with monkeys on them, it would serve him right!
Supposed to be several workers coming tomorrow early. I doubt it, they almost never get here before i get out of bed and i sleep in. Hope springs eternal!

I finished the rush job bunny hutch and the 2 sisters are enjoying it. Don't look, i must have been drunk when i built it, so crooked! Plus the floor is crooked, but the rabbits don't care.

good saturday morning,
I got up early and mixed up a batch of
dressing/stuffing. couldn't get into the mood for it yesterday..

after midnight, Frankie started having her pups. she is up to 6 now and still not finished..
Annie brought one in for me to see, and Frankie was right there to take it away from me..
as long as I will have the oven on, I think I will mix up a batch of dinner rolls..

update at 10 AM ,, now there are 7 puppies. looks like more to come.

I have the dressing resting before I put it into the oven.
we won't be eating until about 6 PM. that's when the ham will
come..
as long as I have time, I have 3 dozen dinner rolls rising in
the oven right now.
I like to use the oven to rise dough. I give it a little shot of heat to take off the chill, and put a pan of water in there for
humidity..

1PM update
there are 8 puppies now.

the rolls and the stuffing are done.
If I don't quit sampling, I won't be able to eat supper..

1:37 PM 9 puppies, now..

I am planning on building a gingerbread chicken coop today. Just short on ambition so caffeine is on tap.
A very overcast dreary day, we are supposed to get rain. I don't care once i feed the chickens.

I finally got pictures of my brooder!

It also opens all the way for cleaning. I also make them with legs so they are easy to tend. I like this one because i sit on my stool and play with the chicks closer to their level.

I do too, marked a special 100* setting on dial, too slow a rise in chilly house otherwise.

Nope, it has latches. But now i have a goat shed so i could use it there.
