I guess we dipped into the negs last night -8F at 1am, wasn't forecast.
Birds and water are fine....snowing again, it hasn't hardly stopped snowing for what feels like weeks. This system is supposed to stop this afternoon, I hope so, need to clear the foot+ off snow the drive and get to the store tomorrow.

I only got one bunny water warmer built because both of my chicken water warmers blew light bulbs last night. So i had to fix that issue. And i put plywood over the one bunny condo that was not covered where the regular waterer hangs. And a plywood divider to keep the bunny i am getting tomorrow away from the bunnies i already have.
The day flew by. I did catch the last loose guinea this evening as it was getting dark.
And one of my pullets squatted today, which i was surprised at since they hatched mid August. Yay!

Bummer...any idea what happened?
Did the bulb actually break or just the filament inside?
You know not to use 'safety' bulbs?
They have a coating that is toxic to birds when bulb heats up.
Hope you get it figured out.

We got another couple inches over night...no neg temps tho.
I am so tired of moving snow...and the drive is not cleared yet.
Am supposed to do some house sitting today, hopefully the drive has been cleared, but still some deep snow trekking to be done....am dreading it.

Not sure, maybe they did get too hot, so i took the insulation out. So far, so good. I hate this cold! The bulbs did not break.
Here are my new girls!

big warm up today. supposed to get up to
5 above..

I might take the blades out of the jointer.
I am not 100% satisfied with their sharpness.
the depth gauge and angle gauge are due to arrive on Thursday.
i really want to wait and use them for setting the blades..
we are randomly picking up a puppy and holding it while watching TV. their eyes are not open yet. so they just snuggle in and enjoy having their fat tummy's rubbed.
Frankie has settled down and accepted the fact that we are not going to harm them. she checks up on them, but doesn't take them away from us anymore..
she even tolerates Spot checking them out. Spot is her left over 6 months old pup that we kept ..

ETA:
I did take the blades out of the jointer.
Made up my mind to grind away until I had razor sharp edges.
tried penetrating oil on the sand paper. it worked like a charm.
better than water or 3-in-1 oil.
have an order for two pups from a goat farmer in southern Wi.
just sent him a few pictures from my archives..
turns out that his wife babysat for a family where I built a large chicken coop for,,.
