So pleased, my plastic egg trays came today! And they fit in the metal tray i made! 20180405_233007.jpg

good morning,
cappy, in which incubator are you going to use those egg trays ?
those are similar to the ones I use in my sportsmans. mine are stackable .. that is how I can increase the capacity from
288 eggs up to 552 eggs.
I have 18 trays. I had to modify 12 of them to allow room to stack them and still have the auto turners work.

I went to harbor freight yesterday. bought a large mill file, and a set of lathe calipers.
got a free digital multitester and a free head lamp.. the free stuff was more expensive than the stuff I bought.

got two more inches of snow tonight.
probably will not bother plowing that little bit..

Hi Jim, i plan to use them in my home made incubator to try and put as many eggs in as possible.
Here is the bunny run, all one big area except one area is kind of a bedroom. The mama and 7 babies moved in today.

I built another metal tray tonight and started building a turner. I think 2 trays is going to be maximum unless i just stack them. Cutting metal is difficult!

I was just about to ask how you were going to turn the eggs.
do you have a 4" hand held grinder ?
I buy metal cutting discs for mine.
about $1/ea . they are very thin, not thick like the grinding discs. I cut the metal for
my roof with them, cut off rusted bolts etc.

I finally checked the lathe turning chisels that came with the lathe. they look like
craftsman. there are 7 of them and 2 of a lesser brand.

also included was a dead center, a live center and a drill chuck..

all in all, at least $100.oo worth of accessories .. got the lathe for almost free.

now if we could just climb out of the 20F temps here, I could go do some wood turning..

I only have a bench grinder, never got around to getting a hand held. I have a dremel and a sawsall.
