good morning, I would have been here sooner, but I just read a half dozen posts and the "like" button was slower than heck..
I suppose some of my maladies are food related. but I can't think of anything I would want to give up.. I suspect wheat is one of them..
the arthritis in my hips is what bothers me most, and I don't think giving up anything will fix that..
I got good news from the chiropractor .
he put me on maintainence appointments.
I go in once a month ,or less, as I feel the need.
Annie bought a bag of Dunkin Donut coffee. I made a pot yesterday. very good.
so this morning I heated up a cuppa just to see if it would be bitter , like the store bought stuff. It is not too bad.. IDK what she paid for the coffee, but if I can reheat a cuppa instead of dumping the old stuff down the drain, it will be money saved in the long run..
I like going to DunkinD for their coffee, but I am not crazy about their donuts.. too breadlike..
I worked as a baker at Dixie Creme for a time right after I got out of the Army. I guess I am spoiled..

Three , month old turkeys are in the coop! I was going to leave them in the dog kennel but the mesh is big and i was worried about snakes. So i put them in here... 20180714_172803.jpg
Hardware cloth, so hopefully they will be safe.

well, tonight things are speeded up.
like works fast again.
today I set the mower blades an inch lower.
mowed the grass that really didn't need it that badly,
afterwards I took the tractor and knocked down the hills in the strawberry/weed patch.. I will wait until it rains, and then go at it again when the dirt is moist and easier to push around. I have a bunch of left over grass seed. probably 2 years old.
I will scatter it around. if it grows, it grows.
if it doesn't, I will mow whatever comes up

what kind of snakes will go after turkeys ?

We have some very large king snakes around here. These turkeys are about a month old. A snake that size probably couldn't eat them but might kill them to give it a try. Once I get the big turkeys in there it probably won't be an issue.

the largest snakes we have here are Pine snakes.. usually the really big ones don't hang around populated areas.
the largest one I ever saw was crawling up out of a ditch on a back road. I stopped my pick up truck to watch it. It crawled right under my door . I told my nephew to watch out his side, I said you will never see a pine snake this big again.
when the snakes head came out from under the truck my nephew said Holy Cow
I could still see about a foot of the snakes tail . It had to be well over six feet long..
with the curls in it's body I wouldn't doubt it was seven feet.. as big around as my forearm, the head was as big as my fist..
this morning I had to go to where Annie works. she had my pu truck. it wouldn't start for her. I tried it and it wouldn't start for me either.. so we called a tow truck.$119.oo
I suspect the solenoid or the starter.

When that happens to me, i hit the terminals with a hammer. Sometimes its just built up crud. Check how clean those terminals are.

we have a fully charged battery. the terminals are clean. even with a jump the outcome is still just a single click, which usually means the starter is bad.
if we had several clicks, then it would be a bad solenoid..
either way there was no starting it..
I will leave it up to somebody else to crawl under there and remove the starter. my mechanic days are over..
the tow truck driver attempted to start it also. same results as I had..the truck is a 1995. probably long overdue for a new starter, eh ?
