this is Zeke.. purebred Maremma LGD

He doesn't come without stipulations.
I don't want him to be tied up or penned up in a dog kennel..
that is why I am letting him go..

Yeah, i had a Pyrenees. He roamed the area. We have 13 acres on the end of a dirt road. Most of the property is surrounded by water.

Its been a while since I stopped in and said hi.

Zeke is a beautiful dog Jim. I hope you find him the perfect new home.

Its been slow progress on my chicken coop, bit still some progress since my last post. The roof is on, the wire is on and mostly secured. Two whole sides is done, with clearlite windows to let in the sun. Still have a whole wall to frame, a door to build, wire and hang, and perches to install, but then my lucky chickens can move on in.

Here's a picture with the roof on but the walls not quite done. I'll see about getting a picture tomorrow.

If I had to do all the things your DH does, I will gladly settle for 2nd best..
I won't load the dishwasher. I told Annie that I would rather do dishes by hand. but I won't do them directly in the sink. So today, she presented me with two plastic dish pans..Now all I want is a wire holder to drain the water and let the dishes dry.
also, I am going to get rid of the extra plates etc that do not match the set.
I went through this when the kids were small and I was doing the dishes every day.
I forgot that we have a mulberry tree.
I have not looked at it closely for a long time.. I have to do some research on it.
does it take two in order to get fruit ?
we have just one. another thing to clone.
I listed our male Maremma LGD on
Bestfarmbuys.com.. we have to keep him penned so he doesn't bother any neighbors
He was no bother, except he had it in his head that he had to run a 1/4 mile circle to check things out.. One neighbor didn't like that, although the dog never actually went onto his property.. just bypassed it..
we got fined by the township for a dog at large..

. It's worse than needing two
Mulberry trees are male or female

Hi Lill,we missed you..
these hot days are tough on my old body.
the only time I can get anything done is in
the morning until about noon.
in fact I should be out there right now, but I need my transfusion of coffee first.
priorities ..
I did go out this morning and rounded up the stakes I need for the grapes while the coffee was perking.
I did some reading about mulberry trees.
I didn't realize they grew up to 70 to 90 feet..
there were some on the golf course I worked at in Illinois. they were just about 15 feet tall. loaded with berries..
we were talking about before and after pictures a few days ago.. I should post the before pictures of the lean to I tore down to build the new structure..
....jiminwisc......

I got up early and went out and finished staking all the vines with air layers on them.
there turned out to be 12 of them, I thought there were 10. oh well, the more the merrier
Now I have to decide what to do with all the rest of the vines still lying on the ground. I suppose I should trace each one back to the root and cut all but one off.. then stake that one up ?? if I did that it would give me dozens of scions.. I already have a couple dozen scions in water..
I have to ponder this for awhile..
I have two really nice gates left over from the lean to I tore down.. they are free if anybody wants to come get them..

I was browsing through my pictures and came across these "before" pics of my old lean to that I tore down and rebuilt.

this is the front, one of the gates I mentioned a few posts ago.

the rear where the snow caved the corner in.

the rear again.
I don't have any pics of the "after"
but it looks much nicer than the "before"

Hi Jim, i seem to remember this build from when you fixed it up. I think the pics are on this thread somewheres, along with some pictures of the lean-to i built up against the barn. Always feels good to fix things up.
