They finally got the slab for the shed/garage poured today so tuff shed should be sending their inspector out to approve it. Then they'll start the build. The skirting will be started tomorrow and once that is done they'll start on the fence along the front of the property.

I placed my first request for a chip drop today, I feel so grown-up! I requested chips rather than logs and chips but they asked if I would accept a few logs, and since we do want a few logs for edging and assorted decorating, I said that would be fine. My question is, did I just agree to a do it myself log cabin? I know a few of you have had chip drops, did you agree to "a few" logs?
I agreed to anything months ago, like 6 months but so far nothing. I am off the beaten path at the end of a dirt road.

I am so jealous, it'll be spring before we get our first chickens!

I'll let you all know about the "chips with a few logs" drop going when/if it happens.

A black bear pooped in our side yard, film at 11. And I've ordered cameras.
Our bears are very shy, they run from people. Perfect!

Neighbor had trapper get the coons that were in house walls. They were going under the deck. Trapper put plastic coated hardware cloth up the deck and as apron. My dog alerted me and I found they had gone through the hwc

good morning,
that last post of mine was written yesterday.
I failed to send it.
we had/have a bear living a few hundred yards behind our house along the river.
about ten years ago, or more, we had a bear walk right up within 20 feet of our deck.
I was sitting out there having my morning coffee. I called to Annie to bring me the camera. She couldn't find it. I got up and went in to get it and when I cam back out, the bear was gone. We had 3 dogs at that time. a LGD Anatolian,(15 years old) a Border Collie (4 years old) and a 3 month old Blue Healer pup. the only one who smelled the bears tracks and wanted to follow was the pup. I let him go as far as the tree line.
that was our only encounter with a bear in 51 years , living here..
