Another fabulous day in Wisconsin.
I got the shelves all framed up. Now I have to cut, and plane about 50 ea, 16" pieces of board for the shelf decking. I know it would be easier and faster if I ran the decking the long way, but I think I will like the looks of this..
I have the tractor bucket half full of burnables. looks like at least two loads before we are done.

Art., :eek::lau

Hubby got the wood on top of the skirt around the run! The chickens are loving going outside.
I built a nest box today, for the kids playhouse I am going to use as a coop for three bantams. Pictures as I progress. Tomorrow I go buy feed etc.
I did attach more wire to the hoop coop today to try and keep the possums out.

Was gorgeous here too...same today, then I fear that is over, rain then back down into the 50's. Picked up a borrowed power washer yesterday, brand new machine with a nice long flexible hose, was going to put that chore off until next week but think it would be better done in the 70's than the 50's. The always shaded back patio gets a black growth that goes slimy if not removed every couple years, couple other places to hit too.
Gonna be a long tedious day, hope the washer works as good as it looks.

good morning,
Art, I hope you got your pressure washing done.
I have the bottom shelf all screwed in. Running the deck boards front to back is a bit more work, but it really looks nice.
so far we hauled out two tractor buckets of burnables to the burn pile, filled two garbage dumpsters with junk and borderline junk. that really freed up a lot of space.
got the whole floor swept.
Today is the big push to finish the final 3 shelves..I am notching around the wall studs to give me 3 1/2" more shelf space. when I am done the shelves will be 17" deep, 60" wide and 15" tall. I will be able to fit those square plastic buckets from the deli on the shelves. plus tool boxes , chain saw and whatever else..
I think I can fit my big compressor underneath the bottom shelf. If I have to, I will take the wheels off. I have portable compressors I can haul around if I have to.
Winter will be here in a couple of hours. It already looks like it could snow.

I did!
Am so glad I pushed thru, but am sore as hell today, tomorrow may be worse.
Got all the power washing done yesterday, no more slippin' on the 'slime'!
I was hurtin' but it's kind of mesmerizing watching all that crap peel off, and not a job one wants to leave partially done...cause it's ugly and hauling the hose and cord out is a PITA, tho that went rather well.
Tractor shed ramp, coop shed steps and pad, even did the glass foyer in the run.
....and the patio. Glad I did the little stuff first or they wouldn't have gotten done.
Not sure I could have finished if I hadn't done most of it sitting on my little rolling stool seat...that was a brilliant idea, if I do say so myself, not sure why I didn't think of it on previous washings. Being down low was way better for directing the flow and keeping tip the proper distance from surface without that awkward 'break your back' stance.

You have to take your shoes off now, to walk on that clean floor..
I do a lot of my work while sitting on a chair.
I always have one close by if I am doing something while standing. when my back goes out, I can barely go 20 feet.
We have treated planks on our deck, I know what you mean by slippery.

Looks great!

good morning,
I still do not have the shelves finished. the last interuption took me away to get a fish fry dinner. I have about a couple of hours left to finish the shelves. I can't do it today because we are road tripping 63 miles to a friend's house for a tiny get together with a few couples from "Cheeseheads" from byc..
I am really enjoying building these shelves.
I get to use all of my power tools. table saw, planer, jointers, finish nailer, screw shooter, plus some hand tools..
I have a pile of wood shavings behind the planer about 2 feet deep. alas, no chickens to bed with it..
